SD will launch a pilot SD program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine for the 2017-2018 academic year. The first training will be held in August 2017, and then medical students will engage in dialogues over the course of the year.
The Sustained Dialogue Institute sought to partner with an innovative institution in order to equip medical students with skills to engage effectively with their patients and other members of the healthcare team, thereby reducing errors and improving the quality of care and patient outcomes. This will be the first program of its kind, though Sustained Dialogue is often been used in varied settings, including schools of law, undergraduate programs, and secondary institutions.
